The Fifth Element – Il Dolce Suono – Inva Mula

One of the greatest moments in the 1997 Sci-Fi movie The fifth element by Luc Besson (born 1959) is the performance of Diva Plavalaguna, starting with the aria Il Dolce Suono. The wonderful aria Il Dolce Suono, better known as mad scene, is sung by Albanian soprano Inva Mula (born 1963) Aand stems from Act III, Scene 2 of the dramatic Italian opera Lucia di Lammermoor, composed by Gaetano Donizetti (1797 – 1848). As Inva Mula just sung the aria Il Dolce Suono and the second part, called The Diva Dance, the role of Diva Plavalaguna was played by French actress Maïwenn Le Besco. The Fifth Element has been directed and is based on a story by Luc Besson, who started to write the story at the age of 16 years. Bruce Willis played the lead role alongside the still relatively unknown Milla Jovovich, who made the breakthrough with her performance in the movie.
